American flag bean stitch applique (for use with lace), machine embroidery design, 4th of July, Patriotic

This embroidery file comes in several sizes....5 inches wide, 6 inches wide, 7 inches wide (5x7 hoop), 8 inches wide, 9 inches wide, and 10 inches wide. 

PLEASE NOTE: This design was digitized specifically for use with lace for the white stripes. There is not a bottom bean stitch so that the lace can hang freely on top of the red stripe. When I was stitching this applique, I made sure to overlap the lace so that it covers the top part of the red fabric a good bit. This is a bean stitch applique design. You must use fabric and lace to complete the look of this design. For the white stripes I used 2" eyelet lace from Hobby Lobby. That will be more than plenty wide for the stripes on the flag. I added Heat N Bond Lite to the backs of my fabric and lace. This helps keep it from unraveling.  When trimming the fabric with a bean stitch applique you must trim the fabric a solid 1/4" away from the edge so that it doesn't come unraveled.  These bean stitch designs are meant to have an unfinished, raggy look.
